Terms of Service
The agreement for using System Atlas: accounts, plans, what you may and may not do, and how disputes are handled.
Version
1.Who you are agreeing with
System Atlas (systematlas.org) is built and run by MIOSA, a Texas company ("we", "us"). These terms are between you and MIOSA. If you use System Atlas for an organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you may bind it.
Using System Atlas, creating an account, creating an API key or downloading data means you accept these terms and the Data Licence. Other documents apply when you use the part they cover: the API Terms for keys, the CLI and the MCP server; the Exchange Seller Agreement and Buyer Licence for the exchange; the Privacy Policy for personal data.
2.What System Atlas is
A public registry of organizations mapped on one structure (parts, flows, figures and the sources behind them), workspaces where you map your own organization privately, a research agent, bulk downloads, an API, an MCP server and a CLI, and an exchange where verified owners license their own data.
Registry data is compiled from public sources and from what organizations publish. Every value carries its source and a confidence label. It can be incomplete or wrong; it is not professional, financial, legal or investment advice.
3.Accounts
- Give a real name and an email you control. One person per account; seats on Terminal are for named people.
- Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account and keys.
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 16.
4.Plans, payment and renewal
Free costs nothing. Member and Terminal are sold by the year and renew each year until you cancel. The price is the yearly price shown on /pricing when you buy; a monthly figure shown next to it is that yearly price divided by twelve, billed yearly. Research credit packs and the deep map service are one-time purchases. Enterprise and the AI Training Licence are sold by separate contract.
Payments are taken by our payment processor, which may act as merchant of record and appear on your statement. Cancel any time: the plan stays until the end of the year you paid for, and is not refunded pro rata unless the law requires it. Unused monthly research credits do not carry over; purchased credit packs do not expire while your account exists.
We may change prices for new purchases and for renewals. A change to your renewal price applies only from a renewal after we have told you by email, so you can cancel first.
5.Your content
What you put in a workspace stays yours and stays private by default: only what you, as the verified owner, choose to publish reaches the public registry or an industry baseline. You give us the permission we need to host, process, research and display your content to the people you share it with, and, for what you publish, to show it in the registry and include it in downloads under the Data Licence.
Do not upload what you have no right to share, other people's confidential information, or malware.
6.What you may not do
- Use the data beyond your tier in the Data Licence, including reselling it, building a competing database from it, or training AI models on it without an AI Training Licence.
- Scrape or bulk-copy pages, or get around rate limits, plan limits, locks or fingerprints. Use the downloads and the API instead.
- Share an account or a key with people outside it, or resell access.
- Probe, attack or overload the service, or access data that is not yours.
- Use System Atlas to harass, profile or target a person, or for anything unlawful.
7.What is ours
The software, the site, the ontology and the compilation (which organizations are in the registry, how they are mapped, and the parts and figures we found) belong to us. Upstream sources keep their own rights; the Attribution Guide lists each one's terms. Data licensed on the exchange belongs to the organization that licensed it.
8.Suspension and ending
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Data Licence, puts others at risk, or does not pay, and we will say why unless the law or an investigation prevents it. Sections that by their nature should survive (licence limits, ownership, disclaimers, liability, disputes) survive the end of your account.
9.No warranty
System Atlas is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Check anything important against its source.
10.Limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred US dollars. These limits do not apply to your breach of the Data Licence or to your payment obligations.
11.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state and federal courts located in Texas, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing, write to hello@systematlas.org and give us 30 days to resolve it.
12.Changes to these terms
Each version is dated. When we change these terms or the Data Licence, we show the new version the next time you sign in and ask you to accept it before you continue; downloads, new API keys and exchange purchases also ask for the current version. Earlier versions stay available on request.
