What personal data System Atlas holds (accounts, and people named in organizational roles), why, who processes it, and how to opt out.
Version
1.Who is responsible
MIOSA, a Texas company, runs System Atlas and decides how the personal data described here is used. Contact: hello@systematlas.org.
2.People in organizational roles
System Atlas has pages for people only in their role at an organization: executives, board members, founders and similar public figures, with their name, role, organization, dates and the public source each fact comes from (for example Wikidata, SEC filings and other registers). We do not collect contact details, home addresses, private social media or anything about a person's private life.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest, and the public's, in knowing who runs organizations, as already published by public registers and the organizations themselves. We weigh that interest against the person's and keep only role facts with a source.
Opt-out: anyone named on System Atlas can ask to be removed at /people/<ref>/opt-out, the link on their page. The team reviews each request; approved, the page and every mention of the person come off System Atlas, and the decision is recorded. You can also write to us.
3.Your account
- Account data: name, email, a salted hash of your password, your plan, and the time you accepted each version of our terms.
- Workspace content you add is yours and private by default; see the Terms of Service.
- Usage: API keys (stored only as a hash), the calls they make, download links issued, research runs and exchange activity, kept to run the service, enforce plan limits and the Data Licence, and keep the ledgers owners rely on.
- Security: the network a verification signal came from and a device cookie, to stop one person casting many signals.
- Fingerprints: a hash derived from your account is written into the files you download (see the Data Licence). It identifies the account only to us.
- Payments: handled by our payment processor; we keep the plan, amounts, dates and the processor's reference, never your card number.
5.Who processes data for us
- MIOSA infrastructure: hosting, database, file storage and backups.
- Our payment processor, Commas (Fanbasis), or Stripe where we use it: checkout, subscriptions and refunds. The processor may act as merchant of record.
- Anthropic: the research agent's language models, which read public web pages and the material you ask it to research.
- Our email delivery provider: sign-in, verification and notice emails.
We do not sell personal data. We share it otherwise only when the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users.
6.How long we keep it
Account data for as long as the account exists, then deleted within 90 days except what we must keep for tax, payment and legal records, and the acceptance and ledger records that prove what was licensed to whom. Role facts about people stay while their source is public and no opt-out has been approved.
7.Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, object to a use or ask us to restrict it. Write to hello@systematlas.org; we answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Data is processed in the United States.
