Quickstart
A key, one public call, one private call, in five minutes.
Make an API key
Sign in, open Settings and create a key. It starts with
sa_and is shown once, so copy it somewhere safe. Keep it out of git: put it in an environment variable.export SYSTEMATLAS_API_KEY=sa_…Make a public call
Public reads work without a key. Fetch the schema of an industry: the standard map companies in it are laid out on.
curl "https://systematlas.org/api/v1/industries/construction"Response{ "industry": { "key": "construction", "name": "Construction" }, "version": 3, "primitives": [ { "key": "estimating", "label": "Estimating", "layer": "process", "parent": "winning_work", "parameters": [ { "key": "estimating_method", "label": "Estimating method", "type": "enum", "unit": null, "options": [ "spreadsheet", "estimating software", "outsourced" ] } ] } ], "connectionTypes": [ { "key": "quote_handoff", "label": "Quote hand-off", "flowType": "information" } ], "modules": [ { "key": "estimate_builder", "label": "Estimate builder", "primitive": "estimating", "parent": null } ] }Make a call with your key
List the workspaces your key can reach. With no workspace yet the list is empty; that is fine.
curl "https://systematlas.org/api/v1/workspaces" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer sa_…"Every response is
{ data }on success or{ error: { code, message } }with the matching HTTP status. See Errors and limits.Give your agent the same access
Add the MCP server to your agent with the same key. For Claude Code it is one command; every other agent is on Setup per agent.
claude mcp add --transport http systematlas https://systematlas.org/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer sa_…"Then ask in plain words: “List my System Atlas workspaces” or “Show me the construction schema”. The agent picks the tool.
